A work in progress

I'm in the process of getting a recipe blog started. Check it out

Photobucket
I have no pictures yet, but it's a work in progress. There's only so much time I have between entertaining a baby, changing a baby, feeding a baby, holding a baby, comforting a baby, and whatever else it is I do :)

A whole lotta family

For the past month I've been lucky enough to spend 95% of it with my parents, sister, brother, nieces, nephew, and in-laws. It all started the end of July when we blessed Mr.E.

My parents made the trek out here to attend it but his blessing wasn't the only thing that brought them out. They were going through a very long and extremely tedious, annoying, pain in the butt, makes you want to pull every hair out of your head, process of getting a condo. After being here for a week, they finally we were able to close on it and move in.
Here are the proud new owners.

We noticed that some wasps decided to build a lovely nest right outside their backdoor window, so my mom and Conryd decided to take care of business.

Afterwards, it looked like a massacre. There were blood splotches and dead wasp bodies everywhere.

After my parents trip out here, I flew back home with my mom. See post below.
And just last week we had a family reunion with my mom's side of the family at
We had a lot of fun catching up with cousins and getting to know their kids. While we where there, a group of us hiked to Stewart Falls.

Hubby, baby and myself weren't able to hike all the down to it but we got pretty close.

We also made delicious s'mores. Instead of using regular chocolate I used Reese's peanut butter cups, and they were bomb. If you haven't tried it before, I highly recommend that you do. And I must say, the smell of a camp fire is probably the greatest thing ever! It brings back so many memories.

Conryd also did the ropes course they had there...I was too afraid to try it, so I just watched from below:)

And lastly, we did some crafting. And I can honestly say, the guys were way more into it than the girls.
Lance and Conryd working hard

The proud "boondogglers." I found out that was the official name for our lanyards.

All in all, it's been a busy, but amazing past month. I hate to see it end but it won't be too long until we can all reunite again.

A Little Trip Home to CA

After being with us for 4 1/2 months,I was finally able to take Mr. E back to CA to spend some time with my family.
I was incredibly nervous for our flight but luckily I had my mom there to help out. Mr. E did really well. He fussed for a bit in the beginning, but that was just because it was his nap time and it's impossible to sleep when the flight attendant comes screaming on the intercom. But once we were up in the air he slept pretty much the whole time.

Here he is just hanging out in the airport

This is when he was trying to sleep but that dang stewardess kept waking him up.

And here he is, perfectly content flying

Ah FINALLY landed!

While we were out in CA, we attempted to take Mr. E to the beach so he could get used to our future residence :) It was extremely windy that day and pretty chilly, so despite our efforts, I think he hated it.

But he sure did look cute in his beach outfit his NeeNee's got him

We also were able to meet our cute friend Ace. Kell and I have been talking about our kids being best friends since we were just little jr. highers. And who would have thought 10 years later, it would really happen.

Ace is such a little cutie pie. He was rolling around and beating up on Mr. E, who pretty much didn't even mind :) And yes, we did get a picture of the 2 best friend momma's with their precious baby boys. Note to self: Never take pictures while sweating up a storm.

He also got to meet my best friend Stephanie! He loved her! He might look terrified in this picture, but he really did love his Aunt Steph

And, well, he's pretty much already a playa

We also did A LOT of this...

And this...(This being, nothing, just lounging)

And we even made it to the zoo, but I did not get any of him besides this one because he slept for 98% of time we were there.

Oh, and how could I forget this...

He found his big toe while we were in CA, and it quickly became his best friend. Question, when does sucking on your big toe turn from being incredibly cute, to incredibly disgusting?
Needless to say, our trip was a blast! I only hope I don't have to wait forever to return. Fingers crossed hubby gets into grad school in Southern CA so we can permanently move out of here and move out there :)
Happy days everyone!

Just a couple of clips of the little one expressing his new found talents.

Now, I'd like to say he loves laughing, but he doesn't. He only laughs occasionally, but he loooooooves to talk. We have morning, afternoon, and evening conversations about our day and how cute he is. He gets really excited and starts kicking, and waling his arms around. And he also loves his hands! As you can see from the video, he stares at them, sucks on them, talks to them, and loves to keep them at a 90 degree angle, as if he were going to box someone.

I'm loving how he is growing into a little person. He definitely keeps us entertained and I can't wait to see more changes in him.

What we've been up to

While I have a free moment and arm, I decided now would be the perfect time for a quick update on what we've been up to. We don't have much free time anymore but when we do we pack up the kiddo and head towards the mountains to hike. To be honest, the first time Conryd mentioned hiking to me I kind of wanted to throw up. I am not an outdoors person nor really a "nature" person. But I am really enjoying it...even though I complain the whole time :) But now that it's getting warmer I'm not sure how many more hikes I'll be taking Mr. E on.
Here is our first ever hike as a family

And I think Mr.E thoroughly enjoyed it, he was passed out the whole time

Father's day was pretty mellow. My mother-in-law had the whole family over for breakfast and lunch. It was a great day to celebrate all the wonderful men we have in our lives. I love that Conryd was able to have his first Father's Day. I was able to capture this sweet moment of father/son time.

And my last little update...
Our son was diagnosed with torticollis and plagiocephaly. Which means he basically has a "twisted neck" or shortening in the neck muscle on one side, which then leads to one side of the head being flat (aka, flathead). I noticed at about 4 weeks that he was only laying on the right side of his head and then noticed that that side was significantly flatter than the left. Well, at his 2 month appt. the Dr. referred us to a physical therapist to help him do stretching and strengthening exercises to help him use the other side. The goal is, if he can use the other side of his head/neck the flat side will grow and "pop out" and hopefully even out. If he doesn't get the other side of his head to "pop out," we're going to have to put him in a remolding helmet. I'm hoping that because he's still so young, we'll be able to accomplish the rounding of his head by repositioning and not have to resort to helmet therapy. This has all been a little hard on me because I feel as though I've failed as a mother, by not holding him as much or not noticing earlier and taking action faster. It sucks. But I'm praying that we'll big results within the next month or two. Fingers crossed!
And to end, a few updated pictures of our "little" guy. Oh yeah, he's in the 94% for height and weight. I guess we know how to grow 'em big over here!

Favorite clips

I think I might have a few legit reasons for why I am so bad at updating.
Reason #1. I have an extremely fussy baby.
Reason #2. When my baby is sleeping, I am sleeping and recovering too.
Reason #3. When he is awake and happy, I want to play with him while he's still in a good mood.
Reason #4. I'm just too lazy.
So lately I've been re-watching episodes of Modern Family. This show is probably one of my favorite shows of all time. If you haven't watched it, do it. It's hilarious. And because I find it so funny, I thought I would share a few of my favorite clips from the show.

First one...Sorry for the quality, I couldn't find a HQ one.

Second one...

Third one...

And lastly...well this one is not Modern Family, but it is my FAVORITE!!

And a few more pictures of this little cutie.

This one cracks me up. I love his little foot sticking out. And I must say, I have an obsession with his feet. They're just too cute for words.

And a few more to end with :)

Happy Easter and birthday

Easter was great. We were able to spend it with Conryd's family. It was kind of a big day because it was pretty much the first time we took Baby E out of the house. We are very protective of taking him out of the house and I still didn't even want to take him to family's house but figured he'd be okay. And it was worth it because we finally got our first family picture.
This is his pooping/farting face..and yes I do think it's one of the cutest facial expressions ever

The 28th was also sort of a big day because it was my 23rd birthday and Baby E hit the 4 week mark. My birthday was very low key but it was a wonderful day. It started off with Baby waking up at 6. He normally doesn't get up til about 7:30 but I guess he decided that getting up an hour and a half early would be a great birthday present to mom...not so much but you can make up for it later on in life. Hubby got home from work about 12 and surprised me with my favorite perfume, Flowerbomb. It was totally unexpected and totally perfect. just a little background story, one of my best friends got me Flowerbomb for my birthday 4 years ago. I hardly ever used it because it was expensive and I wanted it to last a loooong time. Well, little did I know a long time would be like 4 months. My apartment was broken into while I was out of town and my roommates were at church. They stole our laptops and creepily, stole all of our perfume. So not only did those jerks get 3 new laptops, they also got a hardly used bottle of Flowerbomb. I know that was a very tragic story but I'm still bitter to this day about my perfume being stolen. So anyways, the hubby remembered this story and very sweetly and thoughtfully replaced it...and I'm stoked about it.
I didn't get any pictures of myself but I did get some pretty cute ones of the best looking baby in the world.

And the mystery has been solved on who Baby E gets his sleeping positions from.

Apparently, from his dad

And they both give me that same pissed off look when I wake them up :)
