What we've been up to

While I have a free moment and arm, I decided now would be the perfect time for a quick update on what we've been up to. We don't have much free time anymore but when we do we pack up the kiddo and head towards the mountains to hike. To be honest, the first time Conryd mentioned hiking to me I kind of wanted to throw up. I am not an outdoors person nor really a "nature" person. But I am really enjoying it...even though I complain the whole time :) But now that it's getting warmer I'm not sure how many more hikes I'll be taking Mr. E on.
Here is our first ever hike as a family

And I think Mr.E thoroughly enjoyed it, he was passed out the whole time

Father's day was pretty mellow. My mother-in-law had the whole family over for breakfast and lunch. It was a great day to celebrate all the wonderful men we have in our lives. I love that Conryd was able to have his first Father's Day. I was able to capture this sweet moment of father/son time.

And my last little update...
Our son was diagnosed with torticollis and plagiocephaly. Which means he basically has a "twisted neck" or shortening in the neck muscle on one side, which then leads to one side of the head being flat (aka, flathead). I noticed at about 4 weeks that he was only laying on the right side of his head and then noticed that that side was significantly flatter than the left. Well, at his 2 month appt. the Dr. referred us to a physical therapist to help him do stretching and strengthening exercises to help him use the other side. The goal is, if he can use the other side of his head/neck the flat side will grow and "pop out" and hopefully even out. If he doesn't get the other side of his head to "pop out," we're going to have to put him in a remolding helmet. I'm hoping that because he's still so young, we'll be able to accomplish the rounding of his head by repositioning and not have to resort to helmet therapy. This has all been a little hard on me because I feel as though I've failed as a mother, by not holding him as much or not noticing earlier and taking action faster. It sucks. But I'm praying that we'll big results within the next month or two. Fingers crossed!
And to end, a few updated pictures of our "little" guy. Oh yeah, he's in the 94% for height and weight. I guess we know how to grow 'em big over here!
