Why my dad is awesome

I just wanted to wish my daddy a Happy (late) birthday on my blog. Don't worry I didn't forget yesterday, I just didn't post anything. So November 18 was my dad's something year birthday. I just thought I would honor him here by listing a few reasons why my dad is the greatest dad in the world...literally, no joke, he is!

THE LIST
1. Growing up I could convince my dad to give me anything as long as I made him cookie dough.
2. I'm pretty sure guys from the ward only wanted to hang out with me because my dad is hilarious and awesome.
3. You can ask ANYONE and they'll all say, "Bingham is the coolest guy ever."
4. He is the most down to earth person!
5. He is the most unselfish person, along with my mom. I think he's always put his kids before him. He would do anything for us.
6. As much as he hated, and made fun of cheerleading while I did it, he was at every competition to support me.
7. He's the funniest dad in the world.
8. He loves my mom more than anything...even more than he loves rice pudding :)
9. He could never ground me :) I guess I was just too perfect and sweet for him to ground or punish me. Okay well maybe he grounded me once...but I think it lasted about an hour.
10. He has the greatest stories, not sure if they're all true...but they are very entertaining and creative. He told the best bed time stories when I was younger.
11. We get along great and have always had a great relationship.

Anyways, I guess all I'm trying to get across is that I love my dad and he's great. We're excited to see you over Christmas! Wooohooo partay!

I've caved into the "TAG"

Okay so I'm way lazy with these tag things. Kendall tagged me last month and I never did it and Thobeka has tagged me, and I'm bored at work so I guess I'll complete it :)

The rules:
Link person who tagged you (not doing b/c I don't know how)
Tell about 6 Quirks of yours
Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same (not doing b/c I don't have 6 fellow bloggers)

a little something about me:

1. I HAVE to sleep with every door closed. Every night I always make sure our basement door is closed, our bedroom door is closed and our closets are closed. It's really hard for me to sleep when they're even just a crack open. I think i annoy Conryd about it because every night that he gets into bed without shutting the door, I make him get out of bed to shut it. But honestly, you think he would know by now! Just so you know how bad it is, I was up until 4:30 in the morning b/c we slept upstairs and kept the door open. I know I know, the smart answer would have been to shut it, but I didn't want to get out of bed because it was too cold, and I get scared to leave the bed once I'm in it late at night.

2. I'm a texture freak! Certain foods make me want to vomit because of the texture like any type of whipped cream or super gritty foods. Even objects and things make me cringe if they look weird and they really really irritate me. For example, the cement they use around most pools. the really hole-y one. Yeah I HATE IT! We have that in my parents backyard and it drives me crazy. I just want to like scratch it out and scream. Weird I know.

3. I've recently become a germ freak. I don't know if this is really a "quirky" thing about me, but I have to pretty much wash my hands after I do ANYTHING. Even with Conryd, I make him wash hands all the time. For instance, over summer we had a major spider problem (one of my biggest fears by the way) and I'd always make conryd kill them. Even though he had a huge wad of toilet paper and didn't even touch it, i still made him wash his hands with soap water for just in casies.

4. I have to sleep with the bottom of my sheet tucked in under the mattress or else it drives me crazy because I'll end up kicking them off in my sleep.

5. I LOVE salt. I add salt to all of my foods. Even if its still pretty flavorful or salty I still add more. I think it's become more of a "have to do anyways" than a "it needs more flavor" thing.

6. While running at the gym, I have to run at a solid number time, and then I have to get my calories to end with a "5" or a "0" and my mile has to be at a solid # as well. So for example, if I'm running at 14:30 minutes and I want to stop, I won't until i hit 15:00 minutes flat and then if my calories are at 106 I have to keep going until i hit 110 and if I've only ran 1.62 I can't stop til I reach 1.7 miles. I know by the end it's all thrown off anyways, but it has to go in the order in order for me to stop. Not sure if that makes much sense but it does to me :)

Now I tag, but don't expect you to do it b/c
A. You've already done it or
B. you don't want to,
Bree, Carly, Becky, Jen, Chels, and I think that's it?

Part 2...

Two words...Whatever America! So as I'm sure you all are aware of our soon to be President. Whatever whatever whatever! Big disappointment but no use in crying over spilled milk right? All I can say is bravo CA for having somewhat of a brain! At least if McCain didn't win, the least that could happen is that Prop 8 would pass. Thank goodness it did! So I guess Conryd and I can move back to CA after all :) I was actually very surprised to see that it passed, seeing that CA is a "blue" state. Anyways, I guess I should turn my frown upside down and support our President to be. Gah! Only 4 years right? 8 at the most? As I said before...WHATEVER!!! But yay for Prop. 8! Thanks for your support Chels, Bree and Barbie on my last post. It was nice to hear that other people needed to vent as well and I wasn't the only angry person :)

OH yeah one last thing...did anyone else get super frustrated watching the election coverage? If I had to watch/see one more black reverend talk about Obama I was going to vomit. Who freaken cares if he's black. Which he's not. Bree thanks for mentioning this too in your comment. But honestly, he's half black, half white. And WHO CARES!!! I'm just scared to think that most of the votes were just because he's "Black." Whatever America...again.
Watch this video, it's pretty hilarious.

Election venting Part 1

I'm hoping there will be no need for a part 2 but I have been storing up waaaaay too much anger these past couple of weeks to keep it in any longer.
I am just in SHOCK at how many of my friends have no sense of moral values whatsoever. It's actually rather disappointing and frustrating. Leave it to facebook to inform me on everything, but i was reading all of my friends status updates and i would say about 90% of them are Pro Obama, NO on Prop. 4 and NO on Prop. 8. I can actually say that I am DISGUSTED with everyone that feels that way. Maybe digusted is a strong word but I am so angry right now that that word just suits the way i feel best. I can't believe how ridiculous some people are and how blinded they are. I just really hope in these next couple of hours that some of them can really see what and who they are voting for. If that candidate has strong moral values and can lead this country in the right direction. I can probably garuntee that we won't be moving back to CA ever if Prop 8 does not pass. Now most of you probably don't even care about my venting session right now, and i'm hoping that writing this out will calm me down and then i'll be able to delete this, but come on people. Honestly, where is your dignity? Your morals? Your head?! Ah Obama and everything he stands for just inflicts so much anger in me. Okay i think i'm done venting. Thanks for listening...or reading. Good day and Happy Voting.

Happy late Halloween

So I'll be honest, I think Halloween is my least favorite holiday. I hate scary things, especially things that pop out at me. My mom can testify to that and that I was scared of the ride Snow White at Disneyland my whole life because the witch pops out. I finally went on that for the first time just a couple of years ago, and come to find out, she doesn't even really pop out at you. Anyways, thats off topic. So for Halloween this year, earlier durning the week we carved pumpkins with Juanique and Tristin and then last night for Halloween we watched a SCARY movie. Have any of you heard of a movie called "The Strangers?" If not heres a short little summary of what it's about. It's based on some true events and is basically about this couple that's home and some "strangers" come knocking on their door at 4:00 am and terrorize them, stalk them, and try to kill them, and its just way creepy. I'll admit that I was freaked out the whole time we were watching the movie and even a little bit after. Before we watched it I suggested that we watch the ending first so that way I knew what to expect. I HATE being surprised and not knowing whats going to happen. So after we were done watching it and after I was done being freaked out, I realized that all that movie was, was just a longer version of the preview for it, plus the ending. So if you've seen previews for this, you've pretty much seen the whole movie, minus the fact of not knowing the ending. So the moral of this story is, if I can watch it and not be scared to death at the end, I think anyone could watch it.
What did everyone else do for Halloween? Pass out candy to the little children..or "churndin" as my parents would say. It was really weird, we probably only had about 5 groups of kids come by the house. I guess Provo families don't believe in Halloween or something. Oh yeah, i forgot to mention that Conryd prepared a very romantic dinner for me for when I got home from work yesterday. I walked downstairs and the lights were off and all of candles were lit (and we have A LOT of candles because i love them) And then there he was, standing over the stove, warming up curry from Bangkok Thailand :) It was so presh and sooooooooooo good. Anyways, I'll post some pictures of our awesome pumpkins.

If you couldn't tell what our pumpkins were, mine was a 2 story haunted house and Conryd's was some face that looked freaky when it was lite up. Note to self...never make a pumpkin with a million small cut outs, it sucks.

My "Martha Stewart" day...

This past weekend was our 6 month anniversary. I can't believe we've already been married half a year. Time just flies by. We're pretty much an old married couple now :) It was a great weekend. Well sort of, minus the fact that it was freezing...no literally freezing, it was a great weekend. We just stayed inside and ate pumpkin chocolate chip bread from Great Harvest, mmm my favorite!
I decided that this weekend was going to be my "arts and crafts" day. So I guess I have now officially fallen under the "mormon, married wife, that does arts and crafts and lives in utah." Ah, it's started. Now that it's beginning to get cold, too cold actually, I've decided that I wanted to make our apartment feel more Autumn like. So I was browsing around Martha Stewart's web page and found the perfect craft! It was simple, cute and SPARKLY! It was the perfect craft for me.

It might be kind of hard to see, but they are awesome okay :)
In other news, it was Elle's baby blessing this past sunday. I was kind of bummed that I couldn't make it out, but those gosh darn plane tickets are so flippin expensive. Sorry Bree, I really wish I could have been there :( Only 2 more months til Christmas...I can't believe Elle will be 5 months old when i see her! I am so excited for Christmas to come. It'll be so much fun to be family and be away from the snow! In case all of you super cool people that still live AWAY from Utah, it snowed here last Sunday. And it has been freezing ever since. It was kind of ridic (yes i said ridic, short for ridiculous) that it went from extreme heat to extreme cold. What the heck? What happened to my fall season? Sad day... well that's really all I have to update about. Love you guys

It's about time for an update

So I'm at work right now, and we're having some computer problems, so they've shut down the 2 programs that I ONLY work with, so now I have absolutely nothing to do for the next million hours...yes I said million. So I decided that this would be the perfect time to update my blog. Very exciting I know. And my boss just left for a "meeting" which really means he's out playing basketball, but hey, that's fiiiiine with me.

This past weekend my mom came up to Utah for the Ascend Gala, and has been up here for a couple of days now. Conryd and I were able to go to the Gala with her Friday night, and I guess you could say it was fun? I actually enjoyed it, except for the fact that it was 5 hours long, and I was sick. But it was fun to hang out with mom and see people spend ridiculous amounts of money like its nothing, but atleas they're spending it on charity right? So anyways, we went to Salt Lake for Gala at the Grand America Hotel. It was really nice and had a really pretty court yard. Below are few pictures from that. Nothing too exciting but i guess they're just "updated" photos.

Saturday mom came down to Provo to check out our sweet pad. And indeed...it was sweet. We then had a mommy daughter day and went to get a quick bit and then off for some shopping. Afterwards, Cecilia made us all dinner and it was delish. And then we went to Hello Yogurt for dessert (sooo good). Sunday was our primary program, and those are always enjoyable to watch, well atleast a little bit more enjoyable then other sacrament meetings. The little sunbeams and 5 year olds were by far the cutest. They reminded me of Bree because of the way they pronounced their "R's." So adorable! Mom and grandma and Carol came over to our place later that evening to hang out and what not. It was pretty fun to have them all there and to be with family. Anyways, my life is pretty boring. Nothing too exciting going on right now. But incase you all cared, i thought i would just update you on things. Hope you all enjoy the rest of the week.
