So Big!
Why do babies grow so fast? Time really does fly by, especially when you have kids. It's still hard for me to believe that in just 2 more weeks our little guy will be half a year. That's just insane to me. And Bbcause he's growing up so fast, I had to document a couple of things that he's done this past week.
I think it's officially okay to say that he no longer fits in his bath laying down...

So we decided that it's time for him to sit up in his bath, because he can now :)
Look how proud he is of himself! So big!

And something not so new...but I just had to get a picture of all those rolls!

And lastly, he had his second taste of solid foods today. It was organic sweet potatoes again. And he's still a little unsure about it, but it was so sweet to see his daddy feeding him. It was a great bonding moment.

And to end...

this picture just melted my heart. I love it. I love my husband. I love my son. I love my family. I'm just so blessed!
Goodnight!

Baby boy is 5 months
5 months...holy cow! I can't believe he'll be 6 months the end of this month. I know people say time really flies once you have kids and it's so true. It seriously flies by.
At 5 months Mr. E has become my favorite little buddy. I'll admit it, the first 4 months of his life were incredibly challenging, exhausting and dare I say, almost un-enjoyable. But now that he is "growing up," I'm finding myself loving being a mom more than anything else. He's so happy (most of the time), funny, cute, love able, smiley, laughy, cute, cute, cute and cute all the time. Some of his favorite things are to kick me really hard, be tickled, get bathed, watch Yo Gabba Gabba!, squeal like a little girl, laugh, smile, fart, roll from side to side, suck on his toes and hands, and be a complete mama's boy.
I've managed to take a few video clips of him being a little cutie pie, and being super lazy, and not listening to me when I tell him to roll over for the camera :)
Don't be fooled by him not listening to me, he does roll now. It's his new thing, he just really started doing it on his own last week, so it's kind of still a big deal to us :) And of course, as soon as I start to video him, he doesn't do it...go figure. Oh well, he's still dang cute.
Next, we decided to introduce "solid" food. For the past month he's seemed incredibly interested in what we've been eating. He always mimics us while we ate and I always feel so bad eating in front of him because it looks like he wants to join in so bad. So anyways, we thought that we would let him taste some organic sweet potato to get his palate going. I don't think he liked it, but I don't think he hated it either. We're not planning on feeding him solids all the time, we just wanted him to try it. So here's Ev's first time eating something besides breast milk :)
Sorry for the sideways view. I took it with my phone and I'm not sure how to flip it.
Well, that's it for my update. And I must say, I'm quite proud of myself for getting 3 posts done in the past week. That's got to be some kind of record.
Happy Labor Day weekend all!

A whole lotta family
For the past month I've been lucky enough to spend 95% of it with my parents, sister, brother, nieces, nephew, and in-laws. It all started the end of July when we blessed Mr.E.
My parents made the trek out here to attend it but his blessing wasn't the only thing that brought them out. They were going through a very long and extremely tedious, annoying, pain in the butt, makes you want to pull every hair out of your head, process of getting a condo. After being here for a week, they finally we were able to close on it and move in.
Here are the proud new owners.
We noticed that some wasps decided to build a lovely nest right outside their backdoor window, so my mom and Conryd decided to take care of business.
Afterwards, it looked like a massacre. There were blood splotches and dead wasp bodies everywhere.
After my parents trip out here, I flew back home with my mom. See post below.
And just last week we had a family reunion with my mom's side of the family at
We had a lot of fun catching up with cousins and getting to know their kids. While we where there, a group of us hiked to Stewart Falls.
Hubby, baby and myself weren't able to hike all the down to it but we got pretty close.
We also made delicious s'mores. Instead of using regular chocolate I used Reese's peanut butter cups, and they were bomb. If you haven't tried it before, I highly recommend that you do. And I must say, the smell of a camp fire is probably the greatest thing ever! It brings back so many memories.
Conryd also did the ropes course they had there...I was too afraid to try it, so I just watched from below:)
And lastly, we did some crafting. And I can honestly say, the guys were way more into it than the girls.
Lance and Conryd working hard
The proud "boondogglers." I found out that was the official name for our lanyards.
All in all, it's been a busy, but amazing past month. I hate to see it end but it won't be too long until we can all reunite again.

A Little Trip Home to CA
After being with us for 4 1/2 months,I was finally able to take Mr. E back to CA to spend some time with my family.
I was incredibly nervous for our flight but luckily I had my mom there to help out. Mr. E did really well. He fussed for a bit in the beginning, but that was just because it was his nap time and it's impossible to sleep when the flight attendant comes screaming on the intercom. But once we were up in the air he slept pretty much the whole time.
Here he is just hanging out in the airport
This is when he was trying to sleep but that dang stewardess kept waking him up.
And here he is, perfectly content flying
Ah FINALLY landed!
While we were out in CA, we attempted to take Mr. E to the beach so he could get used to our future residence :) It was extremely windy that day and pretty chilly, so despite our efforts, I think he hated it.
But he sure did look cute in his beach outfit his NeeNee's got him
We also were able to meet our cute friend Ace. Kell and I have been talking about our kids being best friends since we were just little jr. highers. And who would have thought 10 years later, it would really happen.
Ace is such a little cutie pie. He was rolling around and beating up on Mr. E, who pretty much didn't even mind :) And yes, we did get a picture of the 2 best friend momma's with their precious baby boys. Note to self: Never take pictures while sweating up a storm.
He also got to meet my best friend Stephanie! He loved her! He might look terrified in this picture, but he really did love his Aunt Steph
And, well, he's pretty much already a playa
We also did A LOT of this...
And this...(This being, nothing, just lounging)
And we even made it to the zoo, but I did not get any of him besides this one because he slept for 98% of time we were there.
Oh, and how could I forget this...
He found his big toe while we were in CA, and it quickly became his best friend. Question, when does sucking on your big toe turn from being incredibly cute, to incredibly disgusting?
Needless to say, our trip was a blast! I only hope I don't have to wait forever to return. Fingers crossed hubby gets into grad school in Southern CA so we can permanently move out of here and move out there :)
Happy days everyone!

Just a couple of clips of the little one expressing his new found talents.
Now, I'd like to say he loves laughing, but he doesn't. He only laughs occasionally, but he loooooooves to talk. We have morning, afternoon, and evening conversations about our day and how cute he is. He gets really excited and starts kicking, and waling his arms around. And he also loves his hands! As you can see from the video, he stares at them, sucks on them, talks to them, and loves to keep them at a 90 degree angle, as if he were going to box someone.
I'm loving how he is growing into a little person. He definitely keeps us entertained and I can't wait to see more changes in him.
