Happy Easter and birthday

Easter was great. We were able to spend it with Conryd's family. It was kind of a big day because it was pretty much the first time we took Baby E out of the house. We are very protective of taking him out of the house and I still didn't even want to take him to family's house but figured he'd be okay. And it was worth it because we finally got our first family picture.
This is his pooping/farting face..and yes I do think it's one of the cutest facial expressions ever

The 28th was also sort of a big day because it was my 23rd birthday and Baby E hit the 4 week mark. My birthday was very low key but it was a wonderful day. It started off with Baby waking up at 6. He normally doesn't get up til about 7:30 but I guess he decided that getting up an hour and a half early would be a great birthday present to mom...not so much but you can make up for it later on in life. Hubby got home from work about 12 and surprised me with my favorite perfume, Flowerbomb. It was totally unexpected and totally perfect. just a little background story, one of my best friends got me Flowerbomb for my birthday 4 years ago. I hardly ever used it because it was expensive and I wanted it to last a loooong time. Well, little did I know a long time would be like 4 months. My apartment was broken into while I was out of town and my roommates were at church. They stole our laptops and creepily, stole all of our perfume. So not only did those jerks get 3 new laptops, they also got a hardly used bottle of Flowerbomb. I know that was a very tragic story but I'm still bitter to this day about my perfume being stolen. So anyways, the hubby remembered this story and very sweetly and thoughtfully replaced it...and I'm stoked about it.
I didn't get any pictures of myself but I did get some pretty cute ones of the best looking baby in the world.

And the mystery has been solved on who Baby E gets his sleeping positions from.

Apparently, from his dad

And they both give me that same pissed off look when I wake them up :)

Over 3 weeks old

Seriously? How is it possible that our baby is going on his 4 week of life? Time is flying by. I feel like it was just yesterday when I was screaming bloody murder wanting him out.
And I also realized that I still suck at updating the blog. I thought I would be better at it now that I have something exciting to update about, but no.
Baby E has developed some funny habits. One of my favorites are his crazy hands. His hands always have to be up by his face or on his face. And thank goodness for baby mittens, otherwise my child would have no eyes left.
So last night as he was eating, his hands were all over the place. I feel the best way to share that moment with you all is through this clip...

And because he's now starting to wake up, I must end this post. But to end, here's a few updated pictures.

And this onsie reminds me of this kid...

He's here!

March 31, 2011 our perfect baby boy entered our lives. After 13 long hours of labor, he arrived weighing in at 8 lbs 1 oz and 20 inches long.

Our stay at the hospital was extended by an extra day due to jaundice. It was tough seeing him all incubated but we're hoping his levels continue to drop. We were sent home Sunday but had to have an in-home billi light set-up, and don't even get me started at how much of a nightmare that night was. His levels dropped to 11.6 but today looks like it may have risen again. His color was normal yesterday but is looking a tiny bit yellow today. Fingers crossed that he's okay.
Here is chillen in his tanning bed

And here is the stupid one we had to set up at home...I'm telling you, this thing was so frustrating it made me cry, multiple times.

As you can tell, this one is 10 times smaller and he just barely fit. I'm going to punch somebody if they make me put my baby in that one more time.
Here's just a few more pictures for your pleasure.

So tiny!

Why is everything so much cuter when it's smaller?
These are just a few of my favorite tiny things of his...

Only 2ish more weeks until our due date! We can't wait to meet our little man. Please don't be late...Or I might die :)

Baby shower!

Last week my family planned the most amazing baby shower for me. My sister and mom were able to fly out for the weekend to set it up and spend some quality time together before the baby comes. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate. Not only was the shower the cutest thing I had ever seen, I got to see my sister who I barely ever get to see.

It's hard to believe that in just 3ish weeks our little boy will be in our arms. It feels so close but still so far away! I'll tell you one thing, I'm definitely ready to not be pregnant anymore. Not that I'm not grateful for this wonderful experience but nine months is such a long time!!!!! And oh yeah, you know how they say pregnant woman have a "glow." I've figured out what that "glow" is. It's oily skin. Holy cow, it's like my face has an oil leak that can't be stopped. Sorry if that's gross, but I feel gross. 3 weeks, 3 weeks, 3 weeks...that's what I keep telling myself :)

Anyways, here's some pictures of the shower. Because I still suck at taking pictures, I let my sister take care of that. And so glad she was there to capture the magic, ha.

And I think I'll end there. Sorry I still suck at updating but hopefully in the next few weeks I'll have something exciting to post about...a baby, in case you didn't get that :)

33 weeks gone

Okay, so it's official. I suck at updating my blog. I guess I blame it on the fact that nothing really exciting is happening, minus this child I'm growing inside of me. And well, since it's been almost 2 months since my last update, I figured I should post something.
Over Christmas my sister was so kind to take some maternity pictures for me. And in case you didn't know, she is an AMAZING photographer! She just has this natural ability to take great pictures without having to use fancy photoshop gadgets for every captured moment. I know it's bit late posting these but I just had to share.
These were taken about 5 weeks ago when I was 28 weeks.

She took a lot more but these ones were my favorite. Thanks Bree!
But since those are "old" news, I decided to get over my fear of the camera and take an up to date belly shot. Here is the GINORMOUS belly at 33 weeks.

And yes, I know I am huge. I hear it from everyone I see. So don't you worry, I am very aware of how "big" I am. And I'm reminded of it often when I'm panting and constantly trying to catch my breath from doing absolutely nothing. Only 7ish weeks left to go! Let's hope I don't lose my mind, or pass out :)

Christmas back home

This year we spent Christmas with my parents in "sunny" CA. The day we flew in was the last day of a huge rain storm in Southern CA. Luckily, the weather cleared the next day and it was beautiful for the rest of the Christmas week.
Christmas was great, as always. I love being home around this time of the year, not only because it's like 40 degrees warmer but b/c my mom's house always looks amazing and she makes the world's best caramel corn! Christmas has always been kind of a big deal to me. I know everyone say's they love Christmas, but I REALLY LOVE CHRISTMAS! I don't know what it is, it must be the great food, the baking, the reflecting of our Savior, the lights, the weather, the family, the decorations, the movies, the music...this list could go on and on but I think you get the point. We had a lot of fun spending time with the family.
Hubby is back in cold, cold Utah but lucky me, I still get an extra week here while I wait for my sister and her family to fly in for their anniversary. I'm so excited to see her, but I think I'm more excited to see her kids...sorry Bree :) Just kidding. I love seeing my sister because I don't get to see her all that often. Maybe once a year, twice if I'm lucky. Even though I'll only see them for 2 days, it's better than nothing. But I do miss husband already and it's only been one day! I feel so pathetic that I miss him so much in such a short period of time but what can I say, I'm attached :)
I tried to take pictures of our Christmas festivities but I may have failed horribly in that department. I'm still really bad at taking pictures but my goal is to take more, especially when the baby gets here. So here goes...
I was able to meet up with my closest girlfriends and have a great lunch at the always delicious, Don Cuco

One of my best friends Kelli is pregnant as well, she's exactly 4 weeks ahead of me with a baby boy as well.

Next comes my mom's beautiful display that I loved and her tree.

We also had this brilliant idea of making gingerbread houses with my nieces, well needless to say, it was a disaster. But a very cute disaster.

For Christmas this year I made a ribbon dancer, fairy/princess wand thing for my niece. I had so much fun making it and may even start selling them if anyone is interested. I don't mean to brag or anything, but it turned out incredibly cute :)

Here's the little princess frolicking on the field with it.

And to finish off the picture update, an updated belly pic. Please excuse the picture quality, my phone camera sucks.
27 weeks and growing by the second!
