Chocolate cake in 5 minutes!!!

It is true. You can have delicious chocolate cake in just 5 minutes! It was too good to be true when my mother-in-law told me, but indeeed, it exists! And why hasn't anyone ever told me about this before? So you don't have to wait any longer to get your late night chocolate fix, I will share this recipe with you...
5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar (we used raw sugar)
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (micro Safe)
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.
Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well..
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
Then EAT! (This can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).
And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?
Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night.

And there you have it, chocolate cake in 5 minutes! Oh yeah, and a very small amount of clean up which makes it that much better :)

Special shout out to Bree! Happy birthday! We love you and wish we could be there to celebrate with you. Love you mucho!

I have THEE CUTEST nieces in the world!

Today is my oldest nieces birthday. She is 3 and just as cute as can be. She's a little rascal, but man could she get away with murder for being so gosh darn cute..at least with me she could :) Anyways, since it's her birthday today I figured I might as well do a tribute post to my nieces. They are all just so beautiful and perfect, that not doing a post about them would just be stupid. So why haven't I thought about this until now? Well, that would be because I didn't think of it until now...so without further ado, here is all the proof you will need to see why my nieces are the cutest in the world! No joke, not even a little bit!
The 3 year old. A.K.A. Diva

The newly 1 year old. So sweet and innocent!

The almost one year old in 3 months. MissE, the little accessorizer.

And last but not least...All 3 cousins together!

As I said before, I have THEE CUTEST nieces in the world! Need I say more?

*Thank you Bree and Carly for your blog posts. Without them, I would not be able to steal these from you :)*
Love you guys and miss you all!

Celebrating our first year of MARRIAGE!

Happy Easter! Not only is today a day to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior, but it is also a day for us to celebrate our one year anniversary :) What a great day for our anniversary to fall on.

Just a reacap of the big day...

This past weekend the hubbster surprised me by taking me to Vegas to see KA Cirque Du Soleil at the MGM.

He tricked me by telling me he was going to take me to Moab to river raft, and although that would have been fun if it were summer, I'm kind of glad he really had something else planned :) So we drove down to Vegas Friday afternoon and got there around 5ish. We went to dinner at the MGM and afterwards walked around the smoke infested casino and then lined up for our show. I had no idea what KA was about but I did know what Cirque Du Soleil was. The show was absolutely AMAZING!! I highly recommend if you have a couple of hundred dollars laying around :) take a trip out there and see the show. Words can't describe how incredible it was. Sounds kind of corny, but it was beautiful ha. After the show we ended up just going back to our hotel because we were exhausted! The next morning we woke up fairly early because all the still drunkies were just getting back to their rooms and decided that screaming and shouting was okay to do at 7 in the morning. So we packed up and cleaned up and headed to the MGM again for their breakfast buffet. And okay, so I'm not much of a buffet person, AT ALL, but their food was really good. After eating ourselves sick, we headed out on the strip to do some walking. Luckily everyone was still hungover from the previous night so the streets were empty. After walking for a couple of hours we decided to head back to Provo. It was a short/quick trip, but totally worth it! Thanks dear for a great anniversary and for surprising (well LYING) to me!

P.S. Mom, Conryd wanted me to make sure you knew that he wasn't really going to take me to Moab. He felt really bad telling you that because he didn't want you to think he wasn't a romantic or that he planned lame things :)

Now for picture posting time. And I apologize for a. Not having a lot of pictues and b. for the quality of the pictures. We are still without a camera, so his phone camera was the next best thing. So if anyone would like to get me a camera for my birthday, I wouldn't even be mad :)
Conryd eating something? Pasta maybe?

Awh, sweet Diet Coke, how I've missed you so much.

In front of the KA theater. Sorry the lighting was Horrible!

Inside the theater, you're not allowed to take pictures but we snuck one in...we're such rebels I know.

Hair maddness!

I believe it has been a few weeks since my last update so I figured I'd better update it because a lot has been going on these past 2 weeks. I'll try not to bore you with the details so I'll try to keep it short and sweet.

Well, I am now in my 2nd week of hair school and learning SO MUCH! You would think that doing hair is pretty basic right? False. I feel like I'll never remember any of the stuff I've learned. It's a bit over whelming but totally worth it. I'm enjoying every second of learning. Shocking! I never thought I'd ever say that I'm actually enjoying...nay, LOVING learning new things. Somethings we've been learning so far include; scalp treatments, blow drying, pin curls, color/weaves, and product info. It's seriously been so fun. It's like playing with a my size Barbie for 8 hours a day. It's awesome! Here is my fabulous color wheel that I just turned in for color week.

I made it out of jelly beans, I was kind of tempted to eat it ;)
In other news, my parents were up here for the weekend to go to conference and Conryd and I were able to go up and spend time with them. We basically just hung out and played games all weekend. I loved seeing my parents and Baby. But unfortunately, the weather was freezing and snowy the whole time. Any whoooo, loved seeing you mom and dad!

Some other less important/non exciting news, Conryd and I made a homemade pizza last week that was super yummy! I thought I'd show a picture of our masterpiece because it was delish and a lot of hard work and sweat went into it :)

Yum right?!
Oh yeah, and can you believe that this Sunday will be our 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Seriously, where as the time gone? I cannot believe it's been a year already. Well we've made it this far the rest is a piece of cake right?! I don't know what people are talking about when they say the first year of marriage is the hardest. They must not have a great marriage :) Kidding...sort of...
Happy early Easter!
Oh and P.S. I colored my hair! I had to do it, it was free! I was our class project. It's like this purplish/reddish color, well to be exact its a 3VR. Which means its a level 3 violet/red color. I think the only one who know's what I'm talking about would be Bree's friend Chelsea, who I'm not sure if she even reads this blog? But anyways, that was a big change for me because I DON'T color my hair...ever!

Last week of work!

So just a quick update on what's going. I quit my job. This is my last week, minus the 2 days a week I'll go in for just 45 minutes until we hire somebody else. I start hair school next Monday. I got the interview for the cheer adviser position but sadly, had to turn it down because the hours required clashed with my schooling. My parents come in town next weekend. And I realized that there are a ton of black pant options out there (for school), I'm just extremely picky and hated all of my options. And that's my little update.
Only one more year until I can make your hair look this good...

These are a few of my favorite things...for the time being

So I may have an addiction...I've actually been struggling with this problem for some time now. And I'm here to confess, I have an addiction to blueberry smoothies and homemade tortillas. And I'm here to share it with you! I noticed that most tortilla recipes call for shortening (yuck!) So I have a substitute for that icky stuff. It's called, OLIVE OIL! And here's the recipe:
2 cups unbleached flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
2/3 cup warm water (I heat mine up in the microwave for about 30-35 seconds)
And that's all it takes. Now for making them.
Add flour, salt, and e.v.o.o. Mix until it makes little clumps (it makes a big difference if you have like a Kitchen Aid over a hand mixer). Slowly add warm water, and mix until dough forms. Break into 2 inch sized balls. Flatten and cook in a skillet on medium to high heat until golden brown. That's it! Super easy, and super quick! It should make about 12 tortillas, but they're pretty small. So if you'd like to make them bigger for burritos or something then just make your dough balls bigger..duh!
Yum!

Okay and now I'll share my blueberry smoothie recipe with you. Because I know you all care oh so much!
Ingredients:
1 banana
2 oranges
All natural vanilla yogurt
2 cups Milk
Raw honey
1 cup frozen or fresh blueberries
6-8 frozen or fresh strawberries

First put in blender, banana, peeled oranges, about 2 big spoonfuls of yogurt, about 2 cups milk (add more if you would like to make it more liquid like) and 2 big spoonfuls of raw honey. Blend together. Once everything is mixed add in your frozen blueberries and strawberries. If your smoothie is too thick, add a little more milk and some water (or just milk or just water). And that's it. If you'd like to make it a green smoothie, simply add some spinach and broccoli and you've got your own homemade "super food" smoothie.

FIN!

Oh, I didn't take these photos...I stole them from google, whoopsie daisy!
Only 2 more weeks until I start school! Woo Hoo! Oh and I applied for a cheer advisor position so wish me luck on that too :)

Having the strangest/strongest cravings!

And that craving would be....WANTING TO GO TO HAWAII!! For the past month or so I've been wanting to go so bad! This feeling may have been provoked even more because of the fact that my parents and sister are there right now. I'm in the process of trying to convince Conryd that this summer would be perfect to go, especially because I found CHEAP tickets to fly to Oahu. So now I'm trying even harder to convince him, but so far, it's not working :( I know right now really isn't the perfect timing, seeing as how we're pretty much broke and I'll be starting Paul Mitchell the end of this month and really can't afford to miss a week of school, but who cares! It's Hawaii! I guess the best I can do is reminisce of our wonderful 2 weeks we spent there last year for our honeymoon...

So these aren't the beessst pictures, but it's the best I have :)

Awh sweet paradise! Anyways, I'm still working on getting us there, so keep your fingers crossed!

Oh yeah good news, well new news I guess. But for those of you who don't know, I'm starting Paul Mitchell the end of this month and really looking forward to it. Not just because it's school specifically for my future career, but because that means I'll be doing a lot less hours at work! YAY! I'm so sick of working it's ridiculous. So yay for less hours! Anywho, just my quick little update. Sorry it's not very exciting but not much is going on in our lives. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

P.S. If you're craving something sweet to eat but don't want to eat junk, try cutting up some fresh strawberries and pour agave over it. It's so yum!!!! I may have an addiction to it :)
